Three international forums, one goal: to share results, contrast ideas, and continue driving the project\u2019s impact.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eldiario.es\/sociedad\/identificar-maria-branyas-vivir-117-anos-si-hubiera-conservado-juventud-vejez_1_12626249.html\">ENLACE A LA NOTICIA<\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>About us<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p><strong><em>Cellular<\/em><\/strong> senescence is characterized by a<strong><em> cell cycle arrest<\/em><\/strong> and active secretory metabolism, termed senescence-associated secretory phenotype (<strong><em>SASP<\/em><\/strong>). Senescent cells participate in numerous biological, physiological, and pathological processes, including embryonic development, cancer, and aging-related diseases.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the important advances in recent years, there are multiple <strong><em>open questions<\/em><\/strong> about the functionality, physiological relevance of the <strong><em>senescence<\/em><\/strong> program and its role in the pathogenesis of different diseases, as well as its possible manipulation for <em><strong>therapeutic purposes<\/strong><\/em>.<span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>More<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>Using a multidisciplinary approach and cutting-edge technologies at <em><strong>SenesceX<\/strong><\/em> we propose:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Determine how <strong><em>dysfunctional<\/em><\/strong> senescence contributes to developmental defects in<br \/>human <strong><em>BranchioOtoRenal<\/em><\/strong> (BOR) and CHARGE syndromes, using mouse models.<\/li>\n<li>Characterize the dual role of <strong><em>senescence<\/em><\/strong> in tumor initiation and progression, its connection with stem phenotypes and the therapeutic potential of <strong><em>senogenic<\/em><\/strong> and <em><strong>senolytic<\/strong><\/em> in breast cancer models.<\/li>\n<li>Investigate the connection between senescence and latent <em><strong>tumor cell<\/strong> <\/em>(dormancy) by generating a mouse model, for the identification and monitoring of non-existent <strong><em>cells<\/em><\/strong>.<br \/>proliferating (dormant or dormant).<\/li>\n<li>Analyze cellular <em><strong>communication<\/strong><\/em> in senescence during aging and processes<br \/><strong><em>neurodegenerative<\/em><\/strong> as well as their manipulation for rejuvenation.<\/li>\n<li>Identify new <strong><em>vulnerabilities<\/em><\/strong> of senescent cells in the pathologies described by genetic and\u00a0 <em><strong>harmacological<\/strong><\/em> screening.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Much more<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>Research into cellular <strong><em>senescence<\/em><\/strong> is one of the most dynamic areas of research.\u00a0basic and translational biomedicine for its broad impact on multiple diseases and its novel approaches. In this proposal, <em><strong>different<\/strong><\/em> <strong><em>experimental<\/em><\/strong> approaches will be used, from molecular and cellular analyses, massive analyzes (<strong><em>scRNAseq<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>ATACseq<\/em><\/strong>, proteomics, metabolomics), studies in animal models and genetic and <strong><em>pharmacological<\/em><\/strong> screenings.<\/p>\n<p>The <em><strong>multidisciplinary<\/strong><\/em> and complementary approaches, together with the track record and experience of the partners involved, guarantee the success of the objectives set.
