After a postdoctoral stint at the Novartis Friedrich Miescher Institute in Switzerland, where he delved into growth control and cancer, he moved to the Institute of Cell Biology at <strong><em>ETH<\/em><\/strong> Zurich in 2003. In 2009, he joined <strong><em>CNIO<\/em><\/strong> as a Junior Group Leader, exploring Growth factors, Metabolism, and Cancer. He was awarded the <strong><em>Ramon y Cajal award<\/em> <\/strong>in 2011 and secured multiple grants. During this time, she did a short research internship in the group of Arkaitz Carracedo at <strong><em>CIC bioGUNE<\/em><\/strong>. For her bachelor\u2019s dissertation, she joined the group of Mar\u00eda del Mar Vivanco at the <strong><em>CIC bioGUNE<\/em><\/strong> to study the tamoxifen resistance in ER+ breast cancer. Afterwards, she moved to Madrid to pursue her Master studies in Molecular Biomedicine at Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Madrid and joined Jes\u00fas Paramio\u2019s group at <strong><em>CIEMAT<\/em><\/strong> to carried out her master thesis on understanding the role of <em><strong>YAP<\/strong><\/em> activation in head and neck cancer. On 2020, Karla joined the Growth Factors, Nutrients and Cancer Group under the supervision of<strong><em> Dr. Nabil Djouder<\/em><\/strong>. In 2021, she obtained an <strong><em>AECC Predoctoral<\/em><\/strong> Fellowship.
